Roller shutters roll down on the OUTSIDE of the glass. They are a shading product, not a security product.
A roller shutter is a curtain of interlocking aluminium slats that rolls down from a headbox mounted outside the window. Think of the profile as a smaller, quieter relation of a garage door. Lowered fully it puts a solid layer between the sun and your glass; lowered part-way, or in a vented position, it shades while still letting light and air past.
What it buys you in Sandhurst is heat and glare control on the elevations that take the worst of a summer afternoon, plus proper daytime privacy on a street-facing or neighbour-facing window. Because the shutter sits outside the glass, the room stays measurably cooler than it would behind any interior blind.
Operation is by motor with a remote, keypad or app, and a manual override for a power failure. Slat colours are powder-coated; where an estate has an architectural review, the headbox and guide colour normally need approval, and we will specify to whatever the guidelines require.
These are shading roller shutters, not security-rated shutters. Security shutters are a different product with a different specification and certification, available on request. We will never sell you the one as the other, and we will not tell you a shading shutter secures your home.
Practical notes
- Motorised with remote, keypad or app control, plus a manual override.
- Vented and part-drop positions for shade with airflow.
- Powder-coated finishes chosen to suit estate architectural guidelines.
- Insulated slat options where the elevation takes real afternoon heat.
